What is a Fable?

The Fable's flourished in the Middle Ages, normaly they featur animals that behave and speak as human beings. A fable always ends with a ‘moral’. This is the lesson that is intended to be learnt through reading the story.
Fables are also tales of fantastic imagination, as they may feature legendary mythic creatures and beasts. Some of the earliest fables travelled down generations through the tradition of oral storytelling and often featured elements of fairy tales and folktales, as they were inspired by specific cultures in certain regions.
Krishna Dharma's Panchatantra (2004) is based on folk tales and fables from the Indian culture dating back to 200 BCE. Stuart Little, Horton Hears a Who! The Lion And The Mouse are really popular, but there are people who said that the most famous fable is The Hare And The Tortoise.
Normaly this kind of stories are short and simples and they teach that the morally good character is rewarded, while the morally bad character is punished.

Las fábulas florecieron en la Edad Media, normalmente presentan animales que se comportan y hablan como seres humanos. Una fábula siempre termina con una “moraleja”. Esta es la lección que se pretende aprender al leer la historia.
Las fábulas también son cuentos de imaginación fantástica, ya que pueden presentar criaturas y bestias míticas y legendarias. Algunas de las primeras fábulas viajaron a lo largo de generaciones a través de la tradición de la narración oral y, a menudo, presentaban elementos de cuentos de hadas y cuentos populares, ya que estaban inspirados en culturas específicas de determinadas regiones.
Panchatantra (2004) de Krishna Dharma se basa en cuentos y fábulas populares de la cultura india que se remontan al año 200 aC. Stuart Little, ¡Horton y El Mundo de los Quién! El León y El Ratón son muy populares, pero hay gente que dice que la fábula más famosa es La Liebre y La Tortuga.
Normalmente este tipo de historias son breves y sencillas, y enseñan que el personaje moralmente bueno es recompensado, mientras que el personaje moralmente malo es castigado.
